Production Associate

Job summary

This position is an entry-level, 1st shift position that assists operators engaged in processing materials.

Duties and responsibilities:

* assists operators at the coil loading and packaging ends of the line and as needed.

* build pallets and shipping containers using hand and power tools.

* band and palletize metal coils and/or metal sheets, placing tags/labels on finished products.

* perform quality checks to verify proper lengths, widths, and weights are adhered to using the proper tools.

* detects and reports faulty operations or defective materials.

* moves or carries parts, equipment, or materials.

* read and understand production orders.

* wraps and unwraps materials.

* housekeeping of work areas.

* operates a sit-down forklift.

* achieves production goals while complying with all safety requirements.

* will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

Required knowledge/skills/abilities:

* must be 18 years or older.

* ability to safely operate a forklift. Training and certification provided regardless of previous experience.

* ability to read documents and interpret facts and draw conclusions.

* understanding basic math, reading, and writing.

* good communication, organization, and time management skills.

Education and experience:

* required:

* high school diploma or ged equivalent

Working conditions:

* production facility where the ambient temperature may fluctuate, and the noise levels may be increased.

* flexible to the possibility of overtime and weekend hours when required.

* days/hours: monday through friday - 7am to 3:30pm
