Job Summary
This position will independently set‑up, operate and troubleshoot machinery and equipment including Shear, PNL, Turret, Brake Press, Robotic Cell, Cut‑to‑Length, Roll Forming/Seaming, Press Lock, Welder/Paint Booth.
Duties and Responsibilities- Set‑up, thread the material through, and operate the assigned machine independently.
- Follow daily manufacturing work orders, paying special attention to material specifications and adding required notations.
- Assist in operating other machinery under close supervision.
- Assist with line‑end packaging when needed.
- Palletize metal coils or sheets, place tags/labels, and perform quality checks for proper dimensions and weights using appropriate tools.
- Achieve production goals while complying with all safety requirements.
- Mount and adjust slitter knives, spaces, and guide discs for various specified coil widths; adjust clearances for roll‑former machines.
- Adjust machinery based on observation and monitoring equipment feedback, performing quality control methods.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lock‑out/tag‑out and daily equipment inspection.
- Maintain the work area in an orderly condition.
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to safely operate a sit‑down forklift; forklift training and certification are required.
- Demonstrate safe working practices with great attention to detail.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and processes.
- Good communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Basic computer, mathematics, and problem‑solving skills; ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as gauges, tapes, and rulers.
- Team player capable of following instructions from management and peers.
- Ability and willingness to learn and operate new equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of six (6) months of relevant experience.
- Fast‑paced manufacturing environment exposed to ambient temperatures, dust, mechanical parts, pinch points, and noise levels.
- 40 hours per week; shifts are 1st (Monday‑Friday, 7:00 am‑3:30 pm).
- Flexibility for overtime and weekend hours when required.
- Lifting or carrying:
- 1–10 lbs
- 11–20 lbs
- 21–40 lbs
- 41–50 lbs
- 51+ lbs
- Pushing or pulling:
- 1–40 lbs
- 41–50 lbs
- 51+ lbs
- Bending or stooping, reaching above shoulder level, walking, standing, sitting, and operating machinery or power tools.
- Working in extreme temperatures and repetitive motion involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Vision, hearing, dexterity, and hand‑eye coordination requirements.
- Steel or composite toe boots, safety glasses, cut‑resistant gloves and arm guards, and hearing protection.
