Position OverviewMobile Maintenance Supervisor
Oversees and performs mobile maintenance activities for construction equipment, trucks, trailers, batch plants, paving machines, bulldozers, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other equipment at various job locations. This position coordinates daily maintenance priorities, supports field mechanics, ensures safe and efficient repairs, maintains preventative maintenance schedules, assists with parts and vendor coordination, and helps ensure equipment availability to support operations.
Wage Range: $30-$35 per hour, dependent upon experience.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)- Coordinates and prioritizes daily mobile maintenance work to support equipment availability, production schedules, and operational needs.
- Provides direction, guidance, and technical support to mechanics and maintenance personnel in the field.
- Monitors work quality, repair progress, and completion of maintenance tasks to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
- Assists with planning preventative maintenance schedules, coordinating equipment downtime, and communicating maintenance needs with operations and management.
- Promotes and enforces safe work practices, proper use of tools and equipment, lockout/tagout procedures, and compliance with company safety requirements.
- Reviews maintenance documentation, work orders, inspection forms, DVIRs, ADOT inspection records, and related paperwork for accuracy and completion.
- Troubleshoots problems, making economical and durable repairs.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
- Maintains and repairs heavy equipment, trucks, shop, and non-mobile equipment on a company-wide basis.
- Services vehicles/equipment to include oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoots and repairs electrical and hydraulic systems, diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drive trains, etc.
- Coordinates ordering of parts, supplies, outside repairs, and vendor services; maintains purchase orders, invoices, and related documentation. Operates computer systems for job functions.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Welds broken parts and structural members.
- Ensures mobile service vehicles, tools, parts, and work areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Maintains organized paperwork such as DVIR sign-offs, ADOT inspections, work orders, maintenance records, and preventative maintenance documentation.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Two to five years of related experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
- Report to the job site dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
- Must be on time for work.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
- Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of Database software.
- Communicate with outside vendors and operations, order parts, document repairs in CMMS/ Hexagon/ Workforce.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver's License Class A, Air brakes.
