Box Truck Driver – Custom Millwork Business
Position Overview:
The Box Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting custom millwork products—including doors, trim, panels, cabinetry components, and specialty woodwork—to job sites, customer locations, and commercial project sites. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and careful handling of high‑value, custom‑built materials.
Delivery & Transportation
- Operate a 16–26 ft. box truck to deliver custom millwork products safely and on schedule.
- Load and unload materials using proper lifting techniques and equipment (e.g., dollies, straps, moving blankets).
- Verify accuracy of outgoing and incoming deliveries, including product quantities and condition.
- Secure all materials in the truck to prevent damage during transit.
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers, contractors, and jobsite personnel.
- Communicate delivery updates, delays, and site challenges to the dispatch or operations team.
- Obtain necessary signatures and documentation upon delivery.
- Assist warehouse team with staging, wrapping, and preparing millwork for delivery.
- Report damaged materials or order discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
- Help maintain a clean and organized truck and loading area.
- Follow all DOT, company, and jobsite safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct daily truck inspections (tires, brakes, lights, fluids) and report maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate driving logs and delivery records.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL typically not required).
- Current DOT Medical Card required.
- Experience driving a 16–26 ft. box truck preferred.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing 50–100 lbs. safely.
- Familiarity with construction or millwork materials is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and professional customer service demeanor.
- Ability to read delivery tickets, load sheets, and basic paperwork.
- Regular exposure to warehouse, yard, and active construction sites.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and maneuvering large or delicate materials.
