Regional Dispatcher Acworth, GA

Primary Responsibility

Regional Dispatcher will handle the transportation for all outbound customer orders. Responsibilities will include load building, coordinating and scheduling deliveries and pick‑ups, and updating EDI with all pertinent information in a timely manner. The dispatcher will communicate with assigned drivers, manage their daily on‑road performance, provide timely exception reports and follow‑up on any shipper or consignee issues. The dispatcher will assist in other activities/duties assigned by Dispatch Manager, Operations Manager or Vice President as needed.

• Consolidate and effectively route LTL shipments, considering profitability and on‑time performance (Goal is 93% controllable on‑time to customer RAD).
• Track driver GPS locations, hours of service and daily progress to ensure all scheduled deliveries and pick‑ups are completed as planned; report late deliveries.
• Communicate all service issues to Customer Service in a timely manner, following up until resolved.
• Schedule delivery appointments and enter information with exception codes into TMS for all orders; maintain familiarity with online scheduling tools.
• Consolidate orders and build delivery routes maximizing capacity and driver hours; maintain routing records in Excel.
• Provide completed manifests with BOLs and instructions for daily Cross‑Dock load‑outs and driver packet completion.
• Coordinate all customer shuttles using the pool of driver resources to maximize profitability.
• Communicate dispatch assignments to drivers daily with necessary specifics.
• Schedule and coordinate pickups in assigned regions, notifying Cross‑Dock team and OS&D Specialist of returning freight.

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. Evening and weekend time will be necessary on occasion.

No travel is expected for this position.

• LTL Dispatch experience.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
• General computer and internet browsing experience.
• General knowledge of driver HOS rules, freight capacity, weight distribution and map reading.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organization and time management (work with deadlines).
