Legal Aide III - 31196

We are currently looking for a Full Time Legal Aide III to join our Supervisory Paralegal team located at the Carl Albert Service Center working.

Summary:

Assists prosecution staff with criminal document preparation, filing and service of documents. Acts as liaison among all parties, including court, for scheduling and sharing information with the prosecution office. Organizes and manages documents, including the creation of spreadsheets, to track criminal case assignments. Regularly inputs information into the internal electronic prosecution case management system. Coordinates the collection, review and production of documents and responds to discovery requests.

Assists with trial preparation including the assembling of exhibits, witness binders and appendices for court filings. Compiles information and prepares court exhibits and visual aids for criminal trials.

Responsibilities:

* Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types

- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
* Answers the phone, transfers call, takes messages and screens calls per guidelines for areas served
* Assists prosecutors with criminal document drafting, filing and service of documents
* Inputs information into the internal electronic prosecution case management system on a daily basis
* Resolves routine inquiries from legal offices and the public
* Performs online legal research by using online systems such as ODCR, PACER and Westlaw
* Assists with trial preparation including the assembling of exhibits, witness binders and appendices for court filings. Compiles information and prepares court exhibits and visual aids for criminal trials
* Performs general clerical duties to include paralegal tasks, but not limited to data entry, scanning, photocopying, faxing documents, filing, receiving, and distributing of departmental emails and correspondence
