Summary:
The Sr Scriptwriter is responsible for researching assigned topics and writing scripts for multimedia video productions. Assists in creating and developing a story from a video concept. Uses research and interviews to form a written document that the production team can use for video production. Works closely with the project leads and producers to ensure all parties are satisfied with the storyline for video production.
Project for scriptwriting include high- level documentaries in the Heritage Series, Annual Meeting videos and Hall of Fame videos, as well as everyday video scripting and PSA scripting.
Responsibilities:
* Projects an image of professionalism and conducts all business efficiently and expediently
* Responsible for writing and delivering materials within established deadlines
* Develops content strategies, to include recommended content to meet the communications goals and further the mission and vision of the Chickasaw Nation
* Compiles and summarizes researched information and data into consumable information for a variety of audiences
* Works with other departments and divisions to ascertain what is needed, gather facts and validate information as it pertains to content
* Creates scripts and performs necessary rewrites
* Responsible for the creation of screenplays that fall within the guidelines
* Assists in acquiring interviews and researching stories based on script development parameters
* Works closely with project leads and producers to develop script ideas, timelines, script outlines and script drafts
* Conducts necessary research and acquires needed resources based on script assignments and storylines
* Sits in on interviews as needed for script research and development
* Reviews past and current interviews and transcripts for script research and development
* Research topics, events and/or people spanning various time periods
* Compile research notes and findings for project scriptwriting into a library database for future use and for Producers
* Provides upper management with accurate and timely project updates
* Assists in quarterly reporting
* Participates in communications projects across the entire communications department as needed
* Must utilize AP and Chickasaw Writers Guide for writing activities and Protocol Manual for all events/functions
* Must learn all Chickasaw Nation policies as it relates to image and reputation management and uphold standards, including use of personal social media channels
* Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types

* Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
