Title:

Physical Therapist Assistant – Physical Therapy

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA license in the state of practice.
• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric setting preferred.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a rehabilitation team under the supervision of a licensed PT.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist to address residents' mobility and functional needs.
• Deliver direct therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance activities, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
• Observe and report on resident responses to interventions, noting progress and changes in condition.
• Assist with resident assessments and contribute to documentation and care planning as appropriate.
• Educate residents and caregivers on exercises and techniques to promote safety and carryover outside of therapy sessions.
• Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record system.
• Ensure proper use and care of therapy equipment and assistive devices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to support coordinated resident care.
• Adhere to all state, federal, and facility regulations and professional standards of practice.
