SummaryThe Ancillary Application Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, operation, deployment, and support of the organization’s electronic health record (EHR), Epic, and related third‑party applications within the Chickasaw Nation Department of Health (CNDH). The analyst will understand the technical capabilities of the systems they support as well as the clinical and business requirements of the organization. They will participate in new modules or application implementation and upgrades and act as a liaison between the department, information technology, and application vendors for CNDH.

Responsibilities- Analyze, document, and communicate business requirements for new system functionality and enhancements to existing functionality.
- Test system changes to ensure that they meet business requirements and do not adversely impact other areas of the Epic system.
- Act as the primary support contact for the application's end‑users.
- Identify issues that arise in their application areas and issues that impact other application teams and work to resolve them.
- Guide workflow design, build, test the system, and analyze other technical issues associated with Epic software.
- Work with Epic representatives and end users to ensure the system meets the organization’s business needs regarding the project deliverables and timeline.
- Develop an understanding of operational needs to set the direction for the organization’s goals and objectives by attending site visits and other integrated sessions.
- Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
- Perform in‑depth analysis of current and future workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the Epic EHR and designated third‑party applications.
- Partner with quality, operational, and business leaders on system design and optimization to meet quality, safety, financial, and efficiency needs.
- Validate that data is accurate and meets business requirements.
- Provide support for installing and implementing system patches, service utilities, and version upgrades as assigned.
- Troubleshoot and identify root causes and document problems of simple to medium complexity for assigned applications and systems.
- Maintain data integrity and security for assigned applications and systems.
- Identify, implement, complete integrated testing, and communicate requested changes to the Epic system.
- Develop system documentation as assigned per standards.
- Develop communication‑related education efforts for deployments, upgrades, optimizations, and other system changes as assigned.
- Coordinate with Department of Health IT staff and other application administrators to implement integrated packages, resolve conflicts, and provide secondary support on related software modules, ensuring smooth operations in areas where package scope overlaps or is integrated with other services.
- Collect requirements regarding potential system enhancements or new system implementation and prepare details of specifications needed; prioritize and implement requested changes to the system.
- Complete integrated testing to test system changes in all Epic environments to ensure that they meet business requirements and do not adversely impact other areas of the system.
- Stay current on Epic application releases and participate in upgrade planning and testing.
- Investigate standardization and process improvement opportunities by rounding within clinical areas while making build decisions.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to measure, assess and improve the quality of assigned work area.
- Cultivate and sustain cooperative relationships across different divisions, departments, and external entities.
- Complete all training and development requirements and participate in continuing education opportunities.
