Land Services Manager

Summary:
The Support Manager is a highly skilled professional who will help design, implement, and coordinate funding resources for several departments in outreach and services. This position generates support from numbers funding agency to support department goals and initiatives. The Manager will also handle research projects and grants administration. This position is key in building collaborative relationships with federal and state funding programs, Chickasaw Nation departments, divisions, and programs as well as external partnerships.
This position requires self-initiation, research and follow up capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
- Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
- Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
- Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment
- Maintains and promotes professionalism
- Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics
- Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards - Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area
- Proactively investigates funding resources to support environmental services, land and wildlife management activities, ensures funds are identified, applied for, and the application is initiated with grant management
- Submits funding opportunities to appropriate areas, prepared detailed budgets, follows procurement guidelines and develops and oversees contracts to carry out strategic initiatives
- Develops technical grant or self-governance budgets and tracks spending as well as oversees all reports for shared areas
- Participates in the development and implementation of program strategy, goals, objectives, and priorities; recommends within established policy, appropriate service, and staffing levels; recommends and administers program policies and procedures
- Applies for and administers various federal, state, and local grants; monitors and prepares reports to ensure compliance with grant requirements; tracks and monitors performance metrics and expenditures
- Attends and participates in professional group meetings; monitors legal, regulatory, technology, and societal changes, and court decisions and stays abreast of new trends and innovations in areas that may affect the work of land sustainability, the rangers, or environmental services
- Provides high level of quality assurance to all applications and narratives submitted to grant services
- Assists other Sr. Managers in forecasting grant budget expenditures, projects costs, and ensures funding resources are obtained and expended in a timely manner
- Oversee and coordinate grant funding and all reporting of funding activities, maintains in project management software and follows up on deadlines for reports
- Acts as a liaison between vendors and other Chickasaw Nation Departments to ensure a smooth bidding, invoicing, and payment process is achieved for all grant vendors
- Hosts monthly funding meetings that tracks grant reports and projects milestones for outreach and services area. Ensure completions of budgeted projects financially and project management of the grant
- Oversees entire grant financial resource process and continually works to improve to better serve the shared outreach and services teams
- Reviews all project management systems, budget reports, and provides support to ensure goals are met
- Ensures all material and equipment purchasing is done pursuant to the procurement standards and at a cost-effective rate
