Summary

Processes aircraft parts through the phos and prime procedures in accordance with customer and company specifications and requirements while following company policies and using proper personal protective equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Posit and secure aircraft parts or components to part rack.
  • Chemically pre‑clean parts before racking.
  • Process parts through a multi‑step procedure.
  • Ensure tank temperatures are correct and all gauges are working properly.
  • Accurately track the amount of time parts are in tank.
  • Ensure electric hoists are working properly.
  • Ensure that all tanks are operated at the proper levels.
  • Assist Chemist in adding product to tanks as needed.
  • Record job information in ERP system.
  • Properly document travelers, process logs, recorder charts and tank information.
  • Perform any surface preparations prior to and after processing.
  • Inspect work pieces for defects to ensure that parts meet specifications.
  • Safely operate all equipment and follow all PPE requirements.
  • Monitor processes to ensure each tank is functioning properly.
  • Use measuring devices and various hand tools.
  • Maintain traceability throughout the process.
  • Evaluate workmanship for part quality and document any discrepancies.
  • Perform OJT’s as needed to ensure co‑workers are properly trained.
  • Paint aircraft detail parts and assemblies in accordance with customer and AEI specifications and requirements.
  • Mix and measure all types of paint in accordance with instructions.
  • Clean paint gun daily and maintain related equipment.
  • Ensure shelf life of all materials is not expired.
  • Vapor degrease and package parts.
Qualifications

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident (ITAR requirement)
  • Required to wear approved respirator and any other personal protective equipment as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Must be able to accurately read shop traveler instructions.
  • Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one‑on‑one situations with management and co‑workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
  • Ability to safely and properly use gauges, calipers, and other tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications.
  • Team player with a strong desire to work in a fast‑paced, professional environment.
  • Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to follow priorities and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
