Forensic Toxicology
Postmortem forensic toxicology laboratory position – Chemist
Responsibilities- The incumbent will serve as a Toxicology Lab team member in the Forensic Sciences Section at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Civil Aerospace Medical Institute located in Oklahoma City, OK.
- Analyze drugs, alcohol, and toxic gases on human biological specimens.
- Develop test methods and experimental protocols; conduct research to determine the presence and impact of various drugs and other toxic substances on performance.
- Prepare biological specimens for toxicological analysis.
- Operate analytical equipment such as liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS).
This position requires proficiency with analytical chemistry/toxicology chromatographic techniques including LC/MS/MS and/or LC/QTOF and GC/MS, and the extraction and analysis of drugs/toxins from biological fluids and tissues.
