SummaryRepairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline trucks and hydraulic systems by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Make all minor repairs such as changing belts, hoses, alternators, water pumps, etc.
- Be organized with tools to perform job duties in a timely manner.
- Make all adjustments.
- Have knowledge in all types of lubricants and verify proper specs for application.
- Be brake certified.
- Have working knowledge of electrical components, understand D.V.O.M meters, follow electrical symmetric and make repairs.
- Have knowledge of suspension and repair safety sensitive component to maintain D.O.T regulations.
- Know the company wrecker and operate in a safe manner.
- Know the safety equipment required for Class 8 truck to ensure safe and legal operation.
- Know the air brake system and follow flow charts to repair systems to meet legal D.O.T specifications.
- Successfully perform PM1 and PM2 without assistance.
- Have good working knowledge of hydraulic systems and be able to perform GPM and PSI testing and diagnosis.
- Make repairs to aluminum and steel with welding equipment.
- Perform tasks such as valve adjustments, clutch replacements, turbo replacements, and trunnion arm bushing.
- Have 2 years of diesel truck maintenance experience.
- Repair and diagnose all systems found in heavy truck hydraulic applications.
- Have knowledge and understanding of R12 and 134 ac systems.
- Rebuild engines and other components on Class 8 tractors.
- Clean and put away parts to maintain a safe work environment.
- Know computers and scan tools for automobiles and class 8 tractors.
- Be willing to go on after hours call outs.

Education and/or ExperienceTwo years or more related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsCurrent driver license and DOT health card and/or CDL.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
