As a Grocery Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the grocery department within the retail setting of a grocery store. You will be responsible for ensuring quality and freshness of non-perishable products while providing excellent customer service. You will be driving labor efficiency, sales, and gross profit margins in alignment with the store.

• Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the product and services offered by the company.
• Maintain a happy, full, fresh, and clean sales floor department.
• Train and supervise grocery department staff ensuring adherence to established procedures and customer service standards.
• S chedule and coordinate shifts to have proper coverage.
• Provide ongoing feedback, performance evaluations and training opportunities for the deli employees.
• M onitor nonperishable inventory levels, ordering products such as but not limited to various products to maintain a diverse and stocked selection.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize and ensure freshness.
• Ensure that all non-perishable products meet quality and safety standards.
• Work with suppliers to select and maintain high quality non-perishable products.
• Ensure grocery products are presented attractively and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests in a prompt and professional manner
• Setting and achieving sales targets.
• Monitoring sales performance and implementing strategies to maximize profitability.
• Conducting regular safety training for grocery department staff.
• Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of the grocery work areas.
• M onitor expenses, control waste and optimizing cost effectiveness.
• C ommunicate with store management regarding inventory, sales, and any issues within the department.
• Adhere to all company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Serve Safe standard refrigeration temperature.

• Weekday and Weekend hours as needed.
• Travel required to various store locations in Connecticut (Lisbon, Canterbury & East Lyme)

• Preferred:
  One (1) year grocery management or grocery sales experience.
• Serve Safe certification and or the ability to be certified within the first 90 days.

• Physical abilities :
  May be required to lift-up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting, and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head;
  Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature-controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc.
