Staff Accountant

Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 commensurate with experience

Schedule: Full‑time, Monday–Friday

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and self‑motivated Staff Accountant to support our day‑to‑day accounting functions. This role reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and quarter‑end closing tasks. Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in accounting and a desire to grow within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including cash, AR, AP, inventory, and credit cards
• Assist with quarter‑end and year‑end close processes
• Assist with accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset schedules
• Investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management
• Maintain documentation for audits and year‑end tax filings
• Support financial reporting and analysis
• Create and submit G702/703 AIA billing documents
• Create and maintain waivers and sub‑tier waivers
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and GAAP

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred (or equivalent work experience)
• 1‑3 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Experience in a construction business is a plus
