Reports to:
VP of Finance and Accounting
Pirtano is seeking a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing, multi‑entity organization. This role will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and helping modernize accounting processes in a fast‑paced, operationally driven environment.

Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes across multiple entities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Assist in consolidations and intercompany accounting
- Oversee job cost accounting and support project‑based financial tracking
- Partner with operations to analyze job profitability, labor costs, and margins
- Monitor WIP (Work‑in‑Progress) schedules and revenue recognition (percentage of completion)
- Maintain and optimize Net Suite, including workflows, reporting, and integrations
- Collaborate with HR/payroll (ADP or similar) on payroll accounting, benefits accruals, and deductions
- Support accounting for 401(k), benefits, and multi‑state payroll compliance impacts
- Assist with annual audit, 401(k) audit (Form 5500), and external reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with multi‑state tax filings and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and improve internal controls and documentation
- Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and reduce risk of error
- Support implementation or optimization of ERP/accounting systems and reporting tools
- Contribute to automation initiatives and improved financial visibility
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
- 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with multi‑entity, construction industry or project‑based industry
- Advanced Excel skills, experience with BI tools a plus
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Experience in the construction industry
- Experience with union environments and certified payroll
- Familiarity with ADP or similar payroll systems
- Exposure to multi‑state operations and compliance
- High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills across finance and operations
- Process‑driven with a mindset for continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in an environment that is building structure and scaling
