Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Bookkeeper to support daily accounting operations for a growing organization. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping financial records accurate, organized, and up to date across cash activity, payables, receivables, and reconciliations. The role requires a proactive and detail-focused individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining strong adherence to accounting procedures and reporting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily cash transactions, ensuring receipts, deposits, transfers, and electronic payments are recorded accurately and supported by proper documentation.

- Manage the full accounts payable cycle by reviewing vendor invoices, confirming approvals and coding, and coordinating timely payments through checks, electronic methods, and wire transfers.

- Maintain accounts receivable records by issuing customer invoices, posting incoming payments, and tracking open balances for follow-up.

- Complete bank and account reconciliations regularly, researching discrepancies and resolving issues to keep records accurate.

- Assist with cash flow monitoring and provide updates that help support financial planning and operational visibility.

- Prepare journal entries and contribute to month-end closing tasks, including support schedules for balance sheet accounts.

- Respond to vendor and customer account inquiries, addressing billing or payment concerns in a clear and timely manner.

- Help compile financial information for reporting, audits, and other accounting projects while supporting ongoing process improvements within the department. Requirements - At least 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting.

- Hands-on proficiency with accounting software such as Quick Books and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

- Solid understanding of core bookkeeping practices, including cash management, reconciliations, AP, and AR activities.

- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and organization when handling financial records and documentation.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to work with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders professionally.

- Strong problem-solving ability and sound judgment when researching discrepancies or resolving account issues.

- Proven capacity to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-moving work environment.
