DEPUTY MANAGER- SHORT BREAK CHILDREN'S HOME
We are looking to recruit a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join our staff team at Addison Street Short Break Children's Home.
Addison Street is a vibrant and energetic Short Break Children's Home which makes a huge difference to the lives of disabled children and their families in North Tyneside. The home provides children with a safe, fun environment and lots of activities, whilst their parents or carers enjoy a much needed break.
The role will include supporting the home's manager in the day to day running of the home, supervising staff, completing audits and representing the home at a range of internal and external meetings and events.
You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care to children in the home in partnership with parents, carers, social workers and other professionals. As part of your working hours you will be required to partake in covering shifts where required including evenings, weekends and sleep in duties in line with the needs of the service.
You will be energetic, passionate and committed to providing outstanding care.
The successful candidateThe applicant should have sound knowledge and experience of children s home regulations and quality standards and experience of safeguarding children. The successful candidate will be confident in leading a team, stepping in to manage the home in the absence of the home manager.
Ideally applicants should have a sound understanding of trauma informed care and experience of working with children who have disabilities.
Applicants must hold a minimum of NVQ level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare / Children & Young People or equivalent and be willing to undertake further studies as required. Applicants should have a minimum of 12 months management/supervisory experience in children s homes.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 and an Enhanced DBS disclosure, including Barred List Check, will be required.
