Estimator - Heavy Civil/Electrical Addison, IL Full-Time On-Site

$125,000 - $160,000 /yr

40-year-old multi-division heavy civil contractor serving the Chicagoland area, southern Wisconsin, and northeast Indiana. We self-perform underground utilities, site development, heavy highway, and civil electrical work for national builders, municipalities, IDOT, and the Illinois Tollway Authority. Strong backlog, loyal client base, and the equipment and manpower to back every bid we win. We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a heavy civil and civil electrical background to price and pursue work across our project portfolio.

Prepare detailed estimates for heavy civil and civil electrical projects from concept through bid submission

Analyze plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and cost projections

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing

Support pre-construction efforts including value engineering and scope review

Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to ensure estimates reflect real-world execution

Track bid results and maintain cost databases to sharpen future estimates

5+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction

Civil electrical estimating background -- duct bank, site electrical, conduit systems, or utility-scale work strongly preferred

Familiarity with public agency bidding (IDOT, municipal, tollway) and prevailing wage projects

Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software (HCSS Heavy Bid, Bluebeam, or similar)

Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills

Highly experienced candidates may qualify for compensation above the posted range

$125k-$160k salary
