Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our restoration team. The Estimator will be responsible for inspecting property damage, preparing accurate repair estimates, and working closely with homeowners, insurance adjusters, project managers, and production teams to ensure timely and successful restoration projects. The ideal candidate has experience in property restoration, insurance claims, and estimating software such as Xactimate.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect residential and commercial properties to assess damage caused by water, fire, mold, storm, or other disasters.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for mitigation, reconstruction, contents cleaning, and related restoration services.
- Use Xactimate and other estimating tools to create estimates in accordance with insurance industry standards.
- Review insurance scopes of work and communicate with adjusters to negotiate approvals when necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure estimates align with actual project requirements.
- Maintain thorough documentation, including photos, measurements, notes, and supporting estimate details.
- Track estimate approvals, supplements, and revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide excellent customer service by clearly explaining the restoration process and estimate details to clients.
- 2+ years of estimating experience in the restoration, construction, or insurance claims industry.
- Proficiency with Xactimate;
Xactimate Level 1, 2, or 3 certification is preferred. - Strong understanding of restoration services, including water damage, fire damage, mold remediation, and reconstruction.
- Ability to read scopes of work, interpret insurance policies, and identify necessary repairs.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills when working with clients and insurance adjusters.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; construction management or related education is a plus.
- Experience with Symbility or other insurance estimating platforms.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction practices.
- Experience handling supplements and disputed insurance claim items.
- Base salary (depending on experience)
- All employees are eligible for the following commission plan to be paid on total sales when the employee refers business to Romexterra:
- 3% of the total revenue for the mitigation project
- 1% of the total revenue for the reconstruction/repair project
- Performance review after 90 days, then annually.
- Monthly commission with no earning cap following Romexterra's Bonus structure
