Job DescriptionAddison Trail High School is seeking a dedicated Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Aide to support hands‑on, career‑focused learning in our classrooms and labs. The role assists teachers in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and providing individualized support during instructional activities. - Attends meetings and in‑service presentations to acquire and convey information related to job functions.
- Monitors individual and groups of students in various settings (e.g., hallways, field trips) to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities- Adhere to safety practices with wood and machine shop tools, automotive lab, screen printing, photography, pre‑school and culinary classes; operate standard office equipment including computers and software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Auto Desk Suite, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Prepare and maintain accurate records; shop for culinary foods and supplies; manage inventory, costing, and verification of record keeping.
- Apply health and safety standards; proficient verbal and written communication; good judgment; take initiative; manage time well.
- Schedule activities; gather and collate data; use basic job‑related equipment; work flexibly with others; solve problems; consistently attend work; adapt to changing priorities; communicate with diverse groups; work as part of a team; handle frequent interruptions; report to supervisors and teachers; remain flexible semester to semester.
- Work under direct supervision; guide others.
- Demonstrate professional work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills to promote a positive image of District 88.

Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; significant fine finger dexterity. Typically requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, 33% standing. Work performed under minimal temperature variations in a clean atmosphere.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.
LicensesEducator License with Stipulations – Paraprofessional endorsement or higher.
