Salary: $150 to $225 Per Day

Reports To: Assistant Principal

The Building Substitute Teacher will perform the regular teacher’s class plan in the teacher’s absence, providing instruction, maintaining student records, and supporting classroom management.

• Communicate, collaborate, and cooperate with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
• Assume responsibility for instructing classes and perform all associated duties.
• Prepare or modify lesson plans with administrator guidance when needed.
• Maintain accurate records: test scores, grades, assignments, and other clerical work.
• Provide individualized support and small group assistance as indicated by lesson plans.
• Offer assistance to students requiring special help in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Support administration and clerical personnel in other essential functions when no instructional substitute period is assigned.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree
• License:
  Substitute License or higher
• Knowledge of basic math, child development, learning styles, and age‑appropriate activities.
• Skills:
  
  operating standard office equipment, using relevant software, preparing and maintaining accurate records.
• Abilities: schedule activities, collate data, use job‑related equipment, problem‑solve, maintain confidentiality, set priorities, and work with diverse individuals.

Work under limited supervision using standardized procedures; lead, guide, and coordinate others as needed.

Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, and fine finger dexterity. The job requires 10% sitting, 45% walking, and 45% standing, performed in a clean atmosphere with minimal temperature variations.
