Part Time

• This position is part-time and will follow a set schedule: 34 hours every two weeks, approximately 17 hours per week.

• Week A:
  Tues., 1:15-9:15 and Thurs. 9-4:30
• Week B:
  Tues., 1:15-9:15, Thurs., 9-1, and Saturday 8:45-5:15
• Week C:
  Sun, 12:45-5:15, Tues., 1:15-9:15, and Thurs. 9-4:30
• Week D:
  Tues., 1:15-9:15 and Thurs. 9-5

Salary: $26.20 - $32.74/hr DOQ. $32.74/hr is the midpoint of the salary range and reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

Position Details:

The Addison Public Library seeks a service-focused librarian to help connect patrons with their interests and information needs. You will facilitate and create programs focusing on consumer health information and provide an exceptional patron experience at the Adult Services desk. Additionally, you will help offer 1-on-1 technology support, lead technology classes, create digital and physical displays, and provide vital access to information.

Our Specialists support a learning culture and are expected to share their expertise with coworkers. You'll also have the opportunity to work on special projects and participate in library-wide committees.

Qualifications:

• An MLS from an ALA-accredited institution is required.
• Enrollment in an ALA-accredited library science graduate program may be considered in place of the degree requirements.
• Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish, or English and another language commonly spoken within the community we serve.
