Schedule

This position is part-time and will follow a set schedule: 34 hours every two weeks, approximately 17 hours per week.

Week #1:
Sun. 12:45-5:15;
Tues. 4:15-9:15;
Weds. 8:45-1:45;
Thurs. 8:45-1:45

Week #2:
Tues. 4:15-9:15;
Weds. 8:45-1:45;
Thurs. 8:45-1:15

Week #3:
Tues. 4:45-9:15;

Salary
: $21.79 - $27.24/hr DOQ. $27.24/hr is the midpoint of the salary range and reserved for candidates who exceed the minimum qualifications and have significant, direct experience.

Position Overview

The Addison Public Library is seeking a customer-focused Youth Services Assistant to help connect patrons with their interests and information needs. Along with providing an exceptional patron experience at the Youth Services desk, you will have the opportunity to provide programming support and assist with promotions and outreach. The Library has a newly renovated Youth Services department that includes a new and dynamic play area as well as plenty of opportunities to interact and connect with patrons.

are looking for someone with:
  • Passion for working with the public and connecting them to resources.
  • Effective, enthusiastic, and respectful communication.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology.
  • Knowledge of children’s literature and child development.
  • Excellent customer service skills with two years of experience.

Qualifications
  • LTA or bachelor’s degree preferred; directly related experience and/or enrollment in higher education may be considered in place of the degree requirement.
  • Two years of customer service experience is required.
  • Experience working with children is preferred.
  • Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are bilingual in English and Polish, English and Spanish, or English and another language commonly spoken within the community we serve.
