Description:

The Controls Engineer must have 6+ years of experience. For this role, you must be a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team in Addison, IL.

In this role, you will be responsible for various aspects of controls engineering, including system design, control panel design, PLC programming, instrumentation, and providing support for system checkout and start-up.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, develop, and implement control systems (both logic software and hardware) to meet specific process system requirements.

* Create Sequence of Operation (SOO) documentation detailing control strategies for the processes being controlled.

* Lead design reviews with customers to review and gain approval for design documents.

* Perform on-site system checkout and start-up of integrated control systems.

* Prepare final system documentation and provide training to the customer.

* Work on automation and control system integration projects across various industries, including manufacturing production lines and water/wastewater sectors.

* Act as a technical lead on projects, guiding and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:

* A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

* Experience:

3-10 years of experience in the following areas:

* Deep knowledge of control systems, components, logic programming, and instrumentation design.

* Proficiency in PLC systems, including but not limited to Allen Bradley, Modicon, Siemens.

* Hands-on experience with SCADA software such as Factory Talk, VTScada, and AVEVA.

* Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients.

* Willingness to travel up to 35%.

Physical Demands:

* Ability to perform tasks requiring good vision (including color perception), hearing, and clear speech.

* Manual dexterity to handle equipment and materials, as well as the ability to lift, climb, and perform tasks involving pushing and pulling.

* Capability to drive and work in various industrial settings.

Work Environment:

Standard office setting and diverse industrial environments.

Frequent use of computers, fax/copy machines, and phones.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
