ACCOUNTANT – Village of Addison, Finance Department
Salary Range: $87,881 – $121,648.
This position is a full‑time at‑will, FLSA non‑exempt role requiring 37.5 hours per week, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work may extend beyond the normal schedule to meet job requirements.
Responsibilities- Perform routine accounting functions under the direction of the Assistant Finance Director.
- Support the Village’s daily accounting needs through various administrative and financial processes.
- Assist the Finance Director with accounting tasks, promoting the principle of separation of duties.
- Maintain the General Ledger, prepare for the Village’s annual audit, and process month‑end and year‑end journal entries.
- Handle payroll processing and special projects as assigned.
- Assist with the annual budget preparation.
- Exercise excellent judgment and conduct detailed analytical work with high financial accuracy.
- Work is of above‑average difficulty and is reviewed by the Director of Finance or designee for progress and compliance with procedures.
- Option to join a PPO medical plan through Aetna; dental insurance through Delta Dental; vision insurance through VSP.
- No cost to employees for coverage under the Village’s medical insurance plan for themselves and eligible dependents.
- High deductible health plan with health savings accounts funded by the Village: $2,000 for single coverage, $4,000 for employee + 1 coverage, and $6,000 for family coverage annually.
- Full‑time employees receive life insurance equal to two times their annual salary at no cost.
- Tuition reimbursement available; approved training paid for by the Village.

- Average tenure of current employees exceeds 11 years.
The maximum pay for this position is within the top 25% of comparable roles in the region, and eligible employees receive annual wage adjustments of 2.5%–3% and subsequent merit increases of 3% until the maximum step is reached.
