Addison Automatics (Electronic Board Repair)
The Electronic Board Level Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing electronic circuit boards and components to ensure optimal performance. This role requires a strong understanding of electronic circuits, schematics, and the use of diagnostic equipment. The technician will work on troubleshooting defective boards, replacing faulty components, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure long-term reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic circuit boards to identify issues at the component level.
- Perform repairs on PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) by soldering, replacing, and reworking components such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and ICs.
- Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other diagnostic tools to test boards and isolate problems.
- Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams to guide repair work.
- Perform functional testing and calibration on repaired boards to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of repair processes, part replacements, and testing results.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve recurring issues and improve board reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) protocols.
- Keep up-to-date with new technologies, tools, and best practices in board-level repair.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s degree or certification in electronics or a related field preferred. - Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in electronic repair, specifically at the component/board level. - Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, soldering irons, rework stations, and diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole components.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
