Mon‑Fri 8 hrs, overtime as needed.
Altorfer Industries Power Systems division sells and services Caterpillar engine products and accessories, including on‑highway truck engines, industrial and marine engines, engine‑generator sets, electrical switch gear and controls. This position will be responsible for shipping/receiving, inventory storage, and order picking activities for the Parts Department in support of internal and external customers.
Principal Functions & Responsibilities- Provide excellent customer service in order picking, packing, and shipping of parts.
- Receive and store emergency and stock orders from vendors.
- Perform physical inventory counts in coordination with inventory control and parts management.
- Operate company vehicles, including lift trucks, as needed.
- Complete required paperwork and computer data entry.
- Assist with customer parts counter sales processing, as needed.
- Assist in ascertaining part numbers; inspect worn, damaged, or defective parts to determine customer needs based on good product knowledge of the equipment.
- Support Product Support, Field Sales, Inside Sales, Equipment Sales, and Service teams to help them achieve overall company goals.
- Participate and complete training as required and/or available.
- Assist with customer order processing and backorder processing, as needed.
- Operate within all parts policies and procedures of the company.
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency to meet customer needs.
- Maintain a positive attitude and high personal morale.
- Be a self‑starter and take initiative in the performance of daily duties.
- Demonstrate ability to work well as part of a team.

Individual should have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two to three years of prior related experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work as part of a team. General knowledge of overall parts support, inventory control, and parts department operations is preferred. Math ability – must be able to perform basic calculations for discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume and other measurement calculations.
Skills/ Abilities
General knowledge of engine parts and equipment parts is a plus. Individual should be able to read and interpret documents such as parts prints, operating and maintenance instructions, service manuals, procedure manuals, and safety rules. Warehouse training or experience in a distribution field is required. Must be able to speak effectively with customers or employees on the phone and in‑person. Physical strength and dexterity for manual labor are required.
Basic knowledge of computer entry systems and Microsoft Outlook is necessary. Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no more than two minor violations within the past three years and no major violations within the past five years; a Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on the final candidate). Must be able to secure lift truck certification.

Payrate $19.87 - $28.39 per hour.
This position works in both a warehouse environment with some outside exposure and an office environment. On a continuous basis, it may involve sitting at a desk for long periods of time, answering phone calls, and writing or using a keyboard to communicate through email. Continuously walking, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds may also be required. Wearing approved safety equipment (safety glasses with side shields and steel‑toe footwear) is required.
Noise levels are usually low in the office and may range from low to moderate in the warehouse. Must be flexible during peak season to work overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required to deliver parts to customers. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
