Power Systems Rental Technician

Altorfer Cat is seeking a Power Systems Rental Technician to join our shop and customer sites.

Work Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday–Friday, overtime and weekends when necessary.

• Maintain the rental fleet of generators, compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, and associated distribution equipment.
• Perform unit check‑in/check‑out, functional runs, appearance inspections, and basic preventive maintenance.
• Provide exceptional customer service, communicate with clients, and handle on‑site loading and unloading of project components.
• Diagnose and repair rental units, coordinate with non‑CAT parts sources, and document unit status.
• Complete rental paperwork and maintain Power Systems records.
• Assist with other related duties as requested.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record (no more than 2 minor violations in 3 years, no major violations in 5 years).
• Computer literacy; proficient with Microsoft Office and CAT programs.
• Ability to follow safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Team‑oriented, adaptable, willing to respond to callouts, overtime, and weekends.
• Basic tool set required.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Formal technical training program or minimum of three years’ relevant experience preferred.

Pay rate: $25.29 – $50.59 per hour.

Physical demands: walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs; moderate to high noise; appropriate safety equipment required.
