Job Title: Custodial Manager

Compensation: $52,900 - $58,000 DOQ
Position SummaryUnder the direction and supervision of the Facility Foreman, the Custodial Manager is a hands‑on position, responsible for completing and overseeing and implementing all aspects of the District's custodial and building services operations. This position ensures all District owned facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and operational efficiency. In addition, the Custodial Manager will work closely with the Facility Foreman to ensure preventative maintenance measures and planning for long‑term facility upkeep and replacement schedules are in place.
This is an at‑will position.
The Custodial Manager is a full time, exempt position generally working Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with nights and weekends, as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for performing, overseeing, and delegating the general cleaning, disinfecting and basic maintenance of all areas of all facilities both indoor and outdoor.
- Supervises full‑time, EPT and part‑time staff by communicating job expectations, job training, schedules, responsibilities, coaching, performance evaluation, recognition, discipline, standards, policies, procedures, on‑going custodial maintenance plan, etc.
- Performs minor maintenance repair as needed across facilities.
- Perform and oversee the set up and breakdown of rental and meeting spaces for events and meetings.
- Work closely with the Event Manager to coordinate room usage, set ups and programming and maintenance activities at various locations.
- Performs and oversees cleaning of park pavilions, restrooms and assigned buildings.
- Inspects facilities, equipment, and property for signs of wear/damage/vandalism. Oversee the safety and cleanliness of the property and equipment by identifying, repairing, and inspecting park facilities, equipment from wear, damage, vandalism, etc. and initiating or completing work orders.
- Participates in forecasting custodial projections, tracking financial/budget activities, and prioritizing and re‑prioritizing activities within general work plan.
- Responds to all emergencies and alarms when on duty or otherwise in an on‑call status.
- Ensures that sufficient custodial supplies and materials are always available through ordering and maintaining inventory.
- Participates in the snow removal process and operates equipment on District roads, common sidewalks, parking lots.
- Demonstrates, supports and enforces Park District customer service standards.
- Establishes, supports and maintains positive and collaborative efforts with internal and external customers and organizations.
- Demonstrates, leads, and supports the Park District's mission statement, vision, and core values.
- Maintains a proactive approach to safety and risk management and perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Addison Park District's safety program.
- Participates in implementing and evaluating sound risk management and procedures. Employees must be prepared and cooperative with annual loss control review process.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preference given to candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited school in related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Minimum of (3) to (5) years of experience in related field.
- Minimum of (1) to (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Must have valid Driver's License subjected to background review, with ability to drive company vehicle.
- Must be CPR and AED certified within six (6) months of hiring. (District provided)
- Employee will be required to work both inside and outside during various environmental conditions, such as, but not limited to rain and mud, extremely hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust, fumes, dirt, noise, insect bites, and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- Frequent operation and handling of assigned equipment, which may include hand tools, ladders, power tools, cleaning equipment, floor scrubbers, and vacuums.
- Employee must have the physical agility to maintain mobility from site to site and be able to perform heavy manual tasks (a thorough pre‑employment physical examination will be required after conditional job offer).
- Employee may perform duties which include, but not limited to prolonged lifting, stooping, bending, twisting, and climbing for extended periods of time.
