SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq.
ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

We are currently seeking diligent and attentive individuals to fill the role of Waste Treatment Operator for our 2nd/3rd shift starting at $18.75/hr this role is pivotal in maintaining the operational excellence of our waste treatment processes and conducting salt spray testing.
Shift Timings- 2nd Shift: 3 PM - 11 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11 PM - 7 AM
Note:
While the typical schedule is Monday-Friday, flexibility to work weekends based on operational needs is required.
- Monitor and manage the operation control panel, ensuring all systems function correctly and efficiently.
- Conduct regular calibration of PH Meters and maintenance of probes.
- Oversee tank levels and maintain communication with the metal finishing department.
- Diligently document operations and maintain logs at regular intervals.
- Perform physical checks of the neutralization reactor and clarifier, ensuring optimal performance.
- Manage waste treatment processes, including the operation of the oil skimmer and proper handling of waste materials.
- Uphold general housekeeping standards and adhere to scheduled preventative maintenance routines.
- Conduct titrations of process chemistry and coating weight analysis, with the ability to prepare black oxide batches.
- Strong computer proficiency is preferred.
- At least one year of relevant experience is desirable, with a Class K license or the commitment to obtain it within one year of joining.
- Physical capability to lift up to 40lbs.
- Previous manufacturing experience is an asset.
- Availability to work weekends is a must.
