SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft.
facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

We are seeking a full‑time entry level Dip Spin Paint Technician for 1st shift (
Hours:
7 am – 3 pm).
This full‑time role must also be able to work Monday‑Saturday! The starting pay is $18.50/hr new employees will receive performance evaluations and potential raises at 60 days, 6 months, and 12 months, then annually each year after that.
- Performing Machine Operator Level 1 duties
- Testing paint viscosities
- Changing paints from the line
- Mixing paints
- Testing paint solids
- Performing paint inventory
- Cleaning paint skirts and paint pots
- Transferring paint from drums into pails
- Disposing paint waste
- Maintaining cleanliness of the paint room
- Practice safe work habits, following outlined policies and procedure
- Operate a Forklift
- Be aware of SWD Inc., company policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by QS-9000 and ISO-14001 and outlined in the SWD Inc.’s quality and environmental systems policy and procedure manuals
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Occasionally/regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds
- Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and ability to focus
- Regularly subject to high noise levels
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑speed environment
- GED or High School Diploma (preferred not required)
- You must be available to work weekends
