Position: CNC Machinist- DIRECT HIRE 2nd Shift (PPG#337186)

Our client is hiring experienced CNC Machinists to machine parts for NASA! You might have the opportunity to machine parts for turbo pumps, propulsion systems, satellite components, support structures or even oxygen generation safety systems!

The CNC Machinist is responsible for machining products to meet customer specifications with minimal direction from area lead or supervisor. Operation and light set‑up involve selecting and installing tooling, updating fixturing, and pulling CNC machining programs.

Shift & Compensation

Hours:

2nd Shift 2:30pm‑11:00pm (OT as required). Pay Range: $30‑$34/hr (10% shift differential). Multiple opportunities open for CNC Vertical and CNC Horizontal Machinist roles.

Job Responsibilities
  • Team player as measured by peers.
  • Operate and perform light set‑ups.
  • Read and understand blueprints/drawings and related technical data.
  • Perform minor preventive maintenance when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.
  • Receive daily instructions from Production Supervisor and plan day accordingly using the “Shop Floor Control System”.
  • Set up and operate machine centers.
  • Operate rotary or indexing capability with 3‑5 axis milling.
  • Verify feeds and speeds for maximum efficiency.
  • Optimize process to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Save updated programs, documents and pictures.
  • Clock in and out operations according to sequence number of the work order.
  • Check parts to ensure they meet blueprint specifications using proper gauges.
  • Deburr work in progress.
  • Train operators on the jobs before they start production.
  • Train new hires or apprentices.
  • Work in teams to troubleshoot manufacturing problems and perform quality assurance checks.
  • Meet agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner.
  • Interact with organizational team members and other departments professionally.
  • Assist in formulating departmental strategic plan.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certification and compliance.
  • Ensure company procedures and “best machine practices” are always followed.
  • Maintain safety and OSHA compliance.
  • Practice all PPE requirements.
