Senior Pastor Messiah Baptist

Messiah Baptist is an established church with history dating back to the late 1800s and has been located in the Western suburbs of Chicago in the township of Addison, IL since 1974. Sunday services include teaching at 9:30 and church service at 10:30 along with midweek service on Wednesdays at 7pm with an Awana program at 6:30 also on Wednesdays. Men’s and women’s bible studies are conducted on various days of the week.

The purpose & mission of this church shall be to strive, by the help of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, to carry out the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ as stated specifically in Matthew 28:18-20;
Romans 8:28-29;
Matthew 6:33 and supported in other scriptures.

• Minimum of 10 years previous pastoral experience required.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Degree in Theology, Counseling, and/or Biblical Studies from a reputable school preferred.
• Expected to preach each Sunday and give a lesson on Wednesdays.
• Lead board meetings.
• Responsible for hiring church staff as required.
• Visit homebound and hospitalized members and may be called after hours for emergency visits.
• Provide counseling services to members as needed.
• Adherence to qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1‑7 and Titus 1:6‑9.

The Senior Pastor will preach each week on Sundays and lead a lesson on Wednesdays. Throughout the week the pastor will meet with members of the church and community, plan Bible studies, conduct outreach opportunities, counsel members in need, and visit those unable to attend due to physical ailments.

Compensation: salary starting at $57,000 USD. In addition to salary, the package includes a 3‑bedroom, 1 ½‑bathroom house on the church grounds which will be maintained by the church along with utilities; the house has been recently renovated. The house may include an additional room in the basement that could be used as a 4th bedroom. The church sits on approximately 10 acres of land.

• To equip the saints to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11‑12).
• To feed the flock (I Peter 5:1‑4).
• To be an example to the flock (I Timothy 3:1‑7).
• To administer the church ordinances (Baptism & Lord’s Supper).
