Responsibilities
- Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
- Interprets quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
- Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
- Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards and provides training throughout the company.
- Maintains a certified internal auditor status to review and ensure compliance as related to internal and government requirements (AS9100, EASA, FAA).
- Ensures company compliance with AS9100 and FAA quality requirements and guarantees all departments meet the current requirements and/or have action plans to meet.
- Senior member of Material Review Board (MRB) responsible for material dispositions.
- Leads and supports internal and external audits and source inspections.
- Supports responses to customer-generated corrective action requests and RCCA.
- Writes, reviews, and approves First Article Inspection documentation to ensure customer and internal requirements are met.
- Provides support to assembly and shop for issues with material nonconformances.
- Provides and reviews training to ensure certified assembler and test technicians compliance.
- Investigates and supports customer complaints regarding quality.
- Supports the company with EASA/FAA required documentation in all areas as well as supporting final inspection as requested.
No supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Language skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. - Mathematical skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply concepts of basic geometry. - Computer skills:
Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software, project management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software. - Certificates, licenses, registrations:
Certified auditor and PMA authorized individual.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching with arms, speaking, and hearing.
- Requires lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- Must adhere to all company policies.
