Quality Assurance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on performing hands-on quality assurance activities in a laboratory environment with regular exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing floor. The Quality Assurance Technician conducts mechanical and visual tests, verifies packaging quality, and documents all findings to support the production of high-quality engineered flexible materials for the healthcare market. Responsibilities

+ Perform mechanical tests on products and materials to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.

+ Conduct detailed visual inspections, including taking precise measurements with a ruler, to verify product specifications.

+ Carry out color matching activities, using accurate color perception to confirm that products meet defined color standards.

+ Perform leak tests to confirm product integrity and identify any potential failures.

+ Conduct tensile testing to assess material strength and performance under stress.

+ Use a ruler and other basic measuring tools to confirm that packaging print is correctly positioned and aligned.

+ Identify defects in products, packaging, and materials through systematic inspection and testing.

+ Communicate identified defects clearly and promptly to the appropriate team members to support timely corrective actions.

+ Document all tests performed, results obtained, and defects found in an accurate, clear, and organized manner.

+ Maintain good documentation practices for outputs from production machines, ensuring records are complete and compliant.

+ Retrieve samples frequently from the manufacturing floor and bring them to the lab for testing, ensuring continuous quality monitoring.

+ Stay with each sample from start to finish throughout the testing process to ensure consistency and traceability.

+ Follow established quality procedures and work in alignment with ISO 9001 standards.

+ Collaborate with a team of Quality Assurance Technicians to support continuous production in a fast-paced environment.

+ Adhere to all lab and production floor rules, including safety, PPE, fragrance-free, and no-phone policies.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

+ Experience in laboratory, quality inspection, production, quality control, or quality assurance environments is a plus.

+ Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.

+ Interest in growing within a stable, expanding organization and exploring opportunities in different departments.

+ Motivation to develop into leadership roles as opportunities arise.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Addison, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr.
