Instruct high school students in the basic skills related to the HVACR and residential wiring.

• Minimum of 2 years work experience in the HVACR/Residential Wiring field required, primary focus on residential wiring
• EPA 608 Certification required.
• Completed related apprenticeship program and/or college degree in related field preferred.
• Must meet all qualifications for the appropriate license through the Illinois State Board of Education.

We can provide application forms and guidance on how to apply for the CTE license.

Certification & Licensing Options:

• Option A:
  Valid Professional Educator License that is current and registered in DuPage County with endorsement in Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology/Technician (Candidates with valid ISBE teaching licenses must also have at least two years of directly related work experience).
• Option B: CTE License – Provide official transcripts showing 60+ semester hours from a recognized institution (emailed or sealed, unopened envelope required) + 2,000 hours of documented work experience in the skill area.
• Option C:
  Provisional CTE License – 8,000 hours of documented work experience in the specific skill area to be taught.

Salary is placed on a scale based on education and experience, ranging from $56k to $64k annually.

Placement is determined at hire based on qualifications, with potential additional consideration given for prior public school teaching experience.
