Porter Pipe & Supply is proud to be recognized as one of the area's Best Places to Work. We are seeking a detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our Material Test Report (MTR) team at our Addison, IL headquarters.
This is not your typical warehouse position. While the role includes picking, packing, and material handling, it also requires a strong focus on documentation, order accuracy, and quality verification. The ideal candidate enjoys working with details, takes pride in accuracy, and understands the importance of ensuring customers receive both the correct materials and the supporting documentation required for their orders.

What You'll Bring- Experience in warehouse order fulfillment, distribution, shipping, receiving, inventory control, quality control, or related operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience reviewing documentation, certifications, quality records, inventory records, or material paperwork is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with pipe, fittings, industrial products, or related warehouse materials preferred.
- Familiarity with Material Test Reports (MTRs), mill certifications, quality documentation, or similar product records is a plus.
- Ability to verify product information, quantities, and supporting documentation with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Intermediate computer skills and experience working within electronic records or databases.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
- Minimum one year of warehouse, distribution, or order fulfillment experience.
- Pick and stage material using forklifts, order pickers, carts, and overhead cranes.
- Verify product descriptions, quantities, and customer requirements for accuracy.
- Review, process, and maintain Material Test Reports (MTRs) and related documentation.
- Match documentation to received materials and customer orders.
- Package and label materials according to customer specifications.
- Maintain organized records and support quality and audit requirements.
- Follow all safety policies and perform other duties as assigned.

- Maintain focus and attention to detail while handling materials and reviewing documentation.
