The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for supporting inventory accuracy, material transactions, cycle counting, receiving verification, and inventory record maintenance within the warehouse operation. This role helps ensure inventory integrity through accurate data entry, transaction processing, physical inventory verification, and coordination with warehouse and operations personnel.

The Inventory Control Clerk plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting material availability, and ensuring inventory records are current, accurate, and aligned with operational requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Investigate and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and transaction errors.
  • Process inventory transactions accurately within company ERP, inventory management, or warehouse systems.
  • Receive and verify incoming materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and receiving documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor inventory locations and assist with inventory organization and material identification.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities through transaction processing and inventory verification.
  • Generate, review, and maintain inventory reports, records, and transaction logs.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, operations, and customer service personnel to resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and year-end inventory activities.
  • Follow established inventory control procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Demonstrate consistent reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail in support of operational requirements.
Additional Duties
  • Employees may be assigned additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, data entry, or related operational support activities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and data entry experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English for safety, training, inventory documentation, and operational coordination.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to inventory quantities, counts, and transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using ERP, inventory management, warehouse management, or business systems (e.g., Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar).
  • Experience performing cycle counts, inventory audits, or inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
  • Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory documentation.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate inventory issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and inventory-related software systems.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout warehouse and inventory storage areas for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to perform repetitive data entry and computer-based work.
  • Ability to visually inspect inventory, labels, documentation, and inventory locations.
