Job Overview
Job Overview — Independently owns and executes the end-to-end demand forecasting process within a multi-site manufacturing environment. This role strengthens and evolves the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) framework by building disciplined, scalable forecasting processes under the direction of SIOP leadership. Reporting to the Director of SIOP, this role operates at the intersection of Sales and Operations. The Senior Demand Planner leads working-level demand alignment, drives forecast accountability, and helps develop a structured, data-driven demand planning process in a growing and evolving organization.
This position requires a strong analytical executor with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity, influence cross-functional partners, and institutionalize forecasting discipline.
- Own the monthly rolling twelve (12) to eighteen (18) month demand forecast at the item, model, and plant levels.
- Develop statistical baseline forecasts and integrate commercial inputs into a structured consensus plan.
- Analyze seasonality, backlog patterns, mix shifts, and promotional impacts to proactively identify demand risks.
- Maintain forecast integrity within defined lock periods and planning horizons.
- Support the continued development and formalization of the demand planning and SIOP process.
- Build scalable forecasting templates, documentation, reporting tools, and governance structures.
- Operate effectively in a developing process environment, bringing structure and discipline under leadership direction.
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting methodology and data integrity.
- Partner closely with Sales teams to validate assumptions and constructively challenge forecast inputs using data.
- Lead working-level demand review and consensus meetings.
- Ensure demand plans align with production capacity and scheduling realities.
- Escalate material demand risks and misalignment within the SIOP framework.
- Track forecast accuracy (lag-based), bias, and attainment metrics.
- Conduct structured root-cause analysis on forecast variances and volatility.
- Translate demand pattern insights into actionable operational recommendations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Analytics, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, forecasting, or SIOP within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience building or enhancing forecasting processes, not just maintaining existing systems.
- Experience partnering directly with Sales and Operations teams.
- Advanced Excel skills (data modeling, scenario analysis, structured reporting).
- Ability to operate effectively in environments undergoing process transformation.
- Strong analytical rigor and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to constructively challenge assumptions using data while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
Position is based at ATW Addison corporate office. Position operates within a hybrid work environment and requires a minimum of three (3) days per week onsite. Candidates must reside within commuting distance or be willing to relocate independently.
