Chief Of Staff
Reporting directly to Xavier Lazarus, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Elaia and Lazard Elaia Capital (LEC), and acting in close collaboration with the previous Chief of staff and his executive assistant, the Chief of Staff acts as a trusted right hand, enabling him/her to operate at maximum effectiveness across all dimensions of his role. The CoS works at the intersection of investment, management, and strategy in the fast‑moving, complex environment of a leading technology venture capital and growth equity firm.
This is a rare, high‑exposure role offering a privileged vista point on the full lifecycle of a VC and growth fund – from investment to portfolio management, and from firm strategy definition, fundraising execution and firm governance organisation. The CoS works closely with a team of experienced Managing Partners, each leading their own investment and operational teams, as well as the teams.
He/she plays a central coordination role across the firm’s key moments.

This position offers a unique learning experience at the heart of one of France’s leading tech VC firms. The Chief of Staff will gain unparalleled exposure to the tech venture capital and private equity world, innovative startups, and cutting‑edge technology – working side by side with one of the most experienced investors in the European ecosystem.
Beyond the day‑to‑day, this role places the CoS at the centre of a firm‑wide transformation, with a real opportunity to shape how a leading PE fund operates in the age of AI.
Preferred Experience Technical skills required- Strong project management skills across complex, multi‑stakeholder environments
- Familiarity with the startup ecosystem and the French and European Tech landscape
- Good scientific and technological culture, especially across software, AI, biotech, cybersecurity, and deep tech
- Genuine interest in AI tools and data systems, with the ability to engage credibly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Experience with planning and management tools relevant to fund operations (board governance, fundraising processes, marketing and communication plans)
- Knowledge of the venture capital and private equity industry is a plus
- Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)
- Intellectually curious, creative, and proactive – always bringing ideas and solutions to the table
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong sense of pedagogy and active listening
- Rigorous, highly organised, and detail‑oriented
- High availability, strong work ethic, and genuine enthusiasm for the role
- Agile and adaptable in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
- Assertive, persuasive, and able to drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
