Legal Counsel, Commercial  Join a collaborative commercial, sourcing, and procurement legal team supporting a broad range of business functions in a collegial and supportive environment.
What You'll Be Doing  What will your essential responsibilities include?
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial and procurement agreements, including IT (MSAs, SaaS), consulting, licensing, NDAs, service agreements, SOWs, PoCs, research/funding, sponsorship, and contract variations.
Provide legal support for French-law and global sourcing/procurement contracts.
Advise business teams such as Marketing, Sustainability, Risk Consulting and others.
Maintain and update contract templates and support the team's SharePoint site.
Deliver general commercial law advice and collaborate with APAC/EU (re) insurance lawyers and AXA Group colleagues.
Work with subject-matter experts in data privacy, information security, operational resilience, tax, finance, and others.
Monitor legal developments affecting commercial and contract law in France, including DORA and AI-related regulations.
Assist with managing external legal firms and alternative legal service providers.
Report to the Associate General Counsel, Global Procurement and Projects.
What You'll Bring  We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
Strong experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial contracts, including cross-border matters.
Familiarity with DORA, AI regulation and regulatory issues a plus.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills (French and English); high attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage workload proactively and meet tight deadlines.
Effective communicator able to engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international financial services environment.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making and prioritization skills.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality internal client service.
Curious, proactive and willing to challenge the status quo.
Resilient, adaptable and calm under pressure.
Strong relationship-building skills and credibility with demanding client groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams; experience with AI tools is a plus.
