Job DescriptionDevelop and maintain a range of artificial vision tools (datasets, model training) and software platforms intended for document analysis in the humanities and social sciences. Participate in the implementation of the Ingénieur IA-SHS business network, particularly by contributing to the implementation of the multi-year training plan in AI engineering for the humanities and social sciences.
Participate in the management of the multi-year training plan in AI engineering for the humanities and social sciences: definition of activities, follow-up of implementation, evaluation. Participate in the implementation of the Ingénieur IA-SHS business network. Participate in the implementation of annotated datasets for the visual analysis of documents in the humanities and social sciences. Deploy and train models on these datasets.
Ensure the availability of these models and datasets for research communities through dedicated software platforms.
Knowledge:

As part of its strategy for AI, the INSHS is implementing a business network of Ingénieur.e.s IA-SHS supported by a multi-year training cycle, several temporary contracts are thus offered including one within the LTE laboratory of the Paris Observatory on the theme of artificial vision and document analysis for the humanities and social sciences. The engineer works within the LTE (UMR 8255) at the Paris Observatory.
The Laboratory Time Space is a multidisciplinary laboratory composed of nine research teams whose areas of expertise concern the themes of time, space and the history of science. Assigned to the history of science team which has been developing expertise in artificial vision and document analysis for several years, the agent works in close collaboration with the Humanum and Progedo teams in the implementation of its missions.

The position is full-time, without on-call duty or special obligations. The Paris Observatory is a ZRR area. Travel in France and abroad is expected.
Remuneration and BenefitsGross salary between 2,571 € and 3,817 € according to experience
