Postdoctoral Position in Operations Research
IESEG School of Management invites applications for a 6-month fully funded postdoctoral position in Operations Research on its Paris campus starting in September 2026. He/She/They will be a part of the Department of "Operations Management".

The School offers Bachelor, Master and Post-Graduate Degrees as well as Executive Education programs. IÉSEG is also one of the leading French business schools in terms of research. Our Lille Campus is in the heart of Northern France (within the triangle made up by London, Paris and Brussels), and our Paris Campus is located in the biggest European business district of "La Défense".
The Operations Management department consists of around 20 members who teach and conduct research in the areas of Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Healthcare Management, Project Management, Product Development and Revenue Management. Our diverse body of permanent professors have recently published articles in top-tier refereed international journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, Production and Operations Management, International Journal of Production Economics, Journal of the Operational Research Society and Expert Systems with Application, among other.
In addition to their research output, our professors have secured competitive research funding and grants across multiple areas.
The appointment is for 6 months starting in September 2026 in Paris (on the campus of IÉSEG School of Management), with the possibility of one 6-month extension. Gross salary will be competitive with other European research and academic institutions.
The selected candidate will join a small research team to conduct high-quality research and is expected to collaborate with the team to advance research on robust optimization models addressing the social cost of carbon and facility location problems. To this end, the postdoctoral researcher will collaborate with Professor Ronald McGarvey, Full Professor at IÉSEG School of Management.
The candidate would collaborate with Professor McGarvey and his research team, applying the concepts of robust optimization to specific problems related to a global analysis of the Social Cost of Carbon and to a study of the robustness of alternative facility location modeling approaches. He/She/They will receive regular mentorship and be expected to disseminate research by submitting academic manuscripts to top management journals such as Management Science or European Journal of Operational Research.
In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to exchange with an international network of scholars specializing in the area of operations research.
- Hold a PhD in operations research, economics, or a related discipline.
- Have a solid research background in mathematical programming (e.g., linear programming) and robust optimization.
- Have a proven research track record, ideally with research articles published (or accepted) in ABS Category 3 and 4 journals.
- Be fluent in English.
Professional experience and knowledge of French are a plus, but not a requirement.
