Engineer II, Systems is responsible for managing and optimizing the organizations IT infrastructure. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, networks, and storage systems to ensure high availability and performance. The engineers conduct regular system audits to identify potential issues and implements proactive measures to mitigate risks. Additionally, they are tasked with automating routine tasks through scripting and other tools to enhance operational efficiency.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for successful project deployments, requiring the specialist to provide technical support during the implementation of new technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performance Monitoring and Optimization. Engineer II, Systems is responsible for monitoring system performance metrics, analyzing data to identify bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to enhance system efficiency. This includes configuring system settings, conducting regular performance assessments, and utilizing diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal resource allocation and scalability of systems.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution. Engineer II, Systems is responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to system performance, network connectivity, and application functionality. This includes analyzing logs, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Additionally, the engineer will document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the knowledge base for future reference.
• System upgrades. Engineer II, Systems is responsible for system upgrades, planning and execution of upgrade procedures, testing new systems, and documenting changes. This includes ensuring that compatibility and performance standards are met, as well as troubleshooting any issues that arise during the upgrade process.
• Server Maintenance and Upgrades. Engineer II, Systems is responsible for performing regular maintenance on servers, including applying updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security. This role involves monitoring server health, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance system reliability. Additionally, the engineer will document changes made during maintenance activities and collaborate with other IT teams to schedule downtime effectively.
• System Configuration Management. Engineer II, Systems is responsible for managing and maintaining system configurations across various platforms. This includes deploying, monitoring, and updating system software and hardware configurations to ensure optimal performance and security. The role involves creating and maintaining documentation for configuration management processes, conducting regular audits of system configurations, and implementing changes as necessary to align with organizational standards.
• Network Administration Support. Engineer II, Systems participates in managing and maintaining network infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting connectivity issues, assisting in implementing security protocols, and ensuring optimal performance of network services.
