About the Role

We are seeking a highly technical and customer focused Technical Sales and Application Engineer to support our Sales and Product Management operations for our intelligent packaged heat pump solution. This role bridges engineering expertise with customer facing support, helping clients select, configure, and apply our products to meet project requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong HVAC knowledge, problem solving ability, communication skills, and a service oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Application & Engineering
  • Interpret project specifications, mechanical schedules, and construction documents to recommend compliant HVAC equipment solutions that align with current and pending products.
  • Provide detailed equipment selections, performance data, submittals, and application guidance.
  • Troubleshoot product application issues and coordinate with engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical inquiries.
  • Collect key customer inputs to drive continued evolution and expansion of our product offering, providing these inputs to Product Management for project inception buildout.
  • Inside Sales
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and bid packages aligned with project timelines and customer expectations.
  • Follow up on open quotations, track opportunities, and support the sales team in closing business.
  • Coordinate with Product Marketing to maintain accurate CRM records for opportunities, communications, and project status.
  • Work with engineering to design appropriate simulations that support sales efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Support field sales personnel by providing technical expertise during customer calls, trainings, and product presentations.
  • Participate in new product introductions by providing key customer and application insights as well as conceptual customer feedback.
  • Customer Support & Relationship Building
  • Deliver prompt, professional responses that build confidence in our technical capabilities.
  • Participate or lead training for contractors, engineers, and outside sales partners on product application and best practices.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on key product lines.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 2–5+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, or building products (application engineering, inside sales, or technical support roles).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC fundamentals, ventilation standards (ASHRAE), and commercial system design.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with HVAC selection software, CRM systems, and MS Office tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear customer guidance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting vertical HVAC products, VRF, DOAS, PTAC/VTAC, or packaged commercial systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, energy standards, and mechanical design practices.
  • Prior experience working with manufacturers’ rep networks or contractors.
  • Basic AI/Machine Learning experience.
  • Familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience designing and interpreting simulations that support customer engagement.
