Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year
Job DescriptionThis is a hands‑on, cross‑functional position where you’ll work closely with engineering, operations, suppliers, and customers to ensure quality is built into every stage of the process. You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining QA/QC processes and standards, supporting inspections, testing, and product validation, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to ensure compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with engineering, operations, purchasing, and customer teams to ensure products meet quality, delivery, and performance expectations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and quality methodologies.
- Support and maintain the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Develop and manage inspection plans, welding procedures, and NDE requirements based on project specifications.
- Oversee quality inspections of fabricated equipment, including skids, piping, and structural steel.
- Work with suppliers to define, implement, and audit quality standards.
- Manage product inspection, testing, and release processes to ensure compliance with design requirements.
- Investigate quality issues using root cause analysis (RCA, 5 Whys) and drive corrective actions.
- Interface with customers, auditors, and third‑party inspectors to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Support product testing and validation in collaboration with the design team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within industrial or custom equipment manufacturing.
- Experience working with structural steel, piping systems, or fabricated equipment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Knowledge of ASME codes related to fabrication is a plus.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma principles.
- Strong understanding of quality tools (RCA, corrective/preventive actions, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Certifications such as CWI or ASQ (CQE, CQA, etc.) are a plus.
- Ability to travel up to ~15%.
- Work on custom, engineered industrial systems (not repetitive production).
- High visibility across engineering, manufacturing, and customer teams.
