The Investment Analytics Analyst will have direct exposure to NLG Capital's investment process by supporting senior members of the Office of the CIO Team. In doing so, they will work on projects related to asset allocation, risk management, performance measurement, competitive intelligence, and other investment related projects. The role provides the necessary information required to improve our investment decisions and ensure they align with the strategic objectives and constraints facing National Life Group.
Responsibilities- Support the Office of the CIO in executing NLG Capital’s investment strategies
- Create and improve analytical tools and monitors that support our investment process through improved understanding and visualization of complex data sets
- Create monitors that bring transparency and objectivity to our investment process
- Influence key decision makers through recurring and ad-hoc analysis
- Integrate insights into practical workflows utilizing Excel, Tableau, Microsoft BI, and email-based reporting
- Learn investment strategy workflows and apply technical skills to improve and automate processes
- Improve team efficiency by leveraging technology to solve our most challenging problems
- Strong understanding of financial markets with at least three years of investment experience or an advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Financial Engineering, Data Science or Computer Science, or combinations thereof
- Asset management experience within the insurance industry preferred
- Experience in financial analysis, development, and/or business analytics related roles
- Experience using Excel, Microsoft BI, Tableau, and other data visualization tools
- SQL and Python helpful
- Experience with code development best practices a plus

- Your benefits start day one and are flexible and customizable to your and your family's specific needs.
Base pay range: $56,250 – $82,500 USD.
Additional compensation and benefits may include a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits such as 401(k) eligibility, paid time off, and participation in National Life’s discretionary annual incentive programs. The position is at-will and subject to modification at any time.
