Associate Actuary/Actuary, Capital Management

Job Description Position Summary

Our client is seeking an Associate Actuary or Actuary to join its Capital Management team. This role will support strategic financial initiatives by evaluating reinsurance transactions, capital deployment opportunities, and other corporate financing strategies. The successful candidate will develop and interpret actuarial models, assess the financial impact of transactions, and collaborate with Finance, Pricing, and senior leadership to optimize capital efficiency and support key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and lead reinsurance and capital management transactions from analysis through execution.
  • Evaluate the impact of transactions across statutory, GAAP, economic capital, and other financial frameworks.
  • Develop pricing analyses, financial projections, scenario testing, and stress testing for strategic initiatives.
  • Build and enhance actuarial models supporting capital management, reinsurance, and risk transfer strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align modeling assumptions and transaction structures.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve capital efficiency and enhance actuarial modeling processes.
Qualifications
  • ASA or FSA designation required.
  • 6+ years of actuarial experience within life insurance, reinsurance, or a related field.
  • Experience with actuarial modeling, capital management, reinsurance, or corporate development.
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and communication skills.
  • Experience with actuarial projection software and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with modern data and automation tools is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Compensation
  • $125,000-$180,000 base salary, plus comprehensive benefits and potential incentive compensation.
