Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Referral Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as a key point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to ensure smooth and efficient referral processes. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and process patient referrals to specialists, laboratories, and other healthcare providers
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies to facilitate timely appointments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date referral records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Follow up on pending referrals to ensure completion and address any issues that arise
  • Educate patients about referral procedures and assist with scheduling and documentation
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care transitions
Requirements

Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional healthcare-related certifications are a plus
  • Proven experience in patient coordination, medical office administration, or related roles
  • Strong knowledge of insurance processes, authorization procedures, and healthcare regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite
